Lamentazioni

E’ bello cercare su google “pidgin sucks” e scoprire di non essere l’unico a pensarla cosi’. Potrei anche fare ricerche sulla pubblicita’ del client MSN windows, quel banner che si apre in CONTINUAZIONE. Potrei, ma ci sarebbe una differenza.

Probabilmente NESSUNO si sognerebbe di difendere il banner pubblicitario sul client windows, perche’ e’ effettivamente FASTIDIOSO e RIDICOLO. Quando si parla di open source invece c’e’ sempre qualcuno pronto a biascicare cazzate con lo stesso fervore di uno a cui e’ stata appena offesa la madre. Di solito il fiumiciattolo di cagate termina con un “MA ALLORA USA WINDOWS”.

I don’t really understand why everyone whines so much about ‘GNOME nannying’. I mean, you start with the minimum needed, and if you want to add things then you go add them. It’s FLOSS, FFS! The Pidgin/GAIM UI is minimal, except for a few whitespace issues which have already been mentioned, along with their (simple) fixes.

No, mia mamma non e’ puttana, va solo in giro nuda! E’ open source, e’ normale che sia MINIMALE e FUNZIONI COSI’ COSI’, e’ il paradigma!

I run the Conversation windows with Tabs, Default Information and Formatting turned off, which results in nothing more than a textbox, conversation box and a menu bar. The Buddy List window is already minimal; the green dot is tidy and gives quick-glance information on status. There is also an option for quick-glance network choice.

Uso un’interfaccia minimale da fare schifo, ed e’ per questo che non capisco e mi oppongo alle tue lamentele. Inoltre il mio nick contiene la parola “dark”, quindi vivo al buio e non faccio testo per la societa’.

And this brings me onto my final gripe; this is Open Source software. Just in case you missed, that means the code is there ready and waiting to be customised for fun and profit. But this is also an Open Source project; you can get in and dirty at any level. Think the UI is badly written? Go suggest some changes! If you are prepared to listen to other opinions, learn the reasoning behind the current interface, and make well thought-out and well implemented suggestions, people will listen. If you don’t like the WHOLE UI, Pidgin is split up into the frontend and LibPurple, which is a backend for IM clients. Finch uses it, AdiumX uses it; OpenWENGO, ScatterChat, PhoneGAIM – all use LibPurple as their backend. So you don’t have to build a whole replacement, just a frontend!

Ahhh ecco. Il codice aspetta di essere personalizzato per DIVERTIMENTO E PROFITTO ? Ciao, ho un nick che contiene la parola “dark” e uso GNU/LINUX, quindi penso che TUTTI debbano scrivere codice e perdere i capelli dietro ai debugger. Bla bla bla. Ci sara’ un motivo se sto cazzo de desktop linux lo usano solo gli addetti ai lavori, o no? Qualcuno mi spiega poi perche’ uTorrent ha un’interfaccia COMUNQUE migliore di pidgin, anche se non c’entra NIENTE ?

GNOME isn’t about nannying you, it’s about making it easy for noobies. If you’re not a noobie, you should probably know a little about gconf and the shell. I can only assume that most people complaining about these things are windows migrants (of which I am one) who never read the part about why FLOSS (Free (Libre) and Open Source Software) is so much better. It empowers you to go and fix what you think is wrong about that little part of the software world, with the full support of everyone else in the FLOSS community.

If you can’t be bothered, go back to Windows. You deserve it.

Purtroppo l’imbecille medio con capacita’ informatiche non riesce lontanamente a concepire che linux e noob sono due parole che non hanno NIENTE da spartire. E quale sarebbe il beneficio UNIVERSALE del software libero? E’ cosi’ e basta. FLOSS = BETTER. Per fortuna che il mondo dell’open source e’ caratterizzato da tanta apertura mentale… Se non puoi permetterti di andare a cercare la causa del bug, torna a windows, te lo meriti!

• qualcuno ha detto ai developer di gnome che i menu’ possono andare piu’ in profondita’ di UN ELEMENTO ? System -> Preferences -> L’INFERNO.
• qualcuno PROVA il software in un qualunque momento dello sviluppo? Il network manager e’ come guardare dei bambini presi a calci. Fa male dentro.
• chi ha creato i suoni di pidgin puo’ gentilmente andare via e non tornare MAI PIU’ ?
• Perche’ il file manager di gnome ha tutto quello spazio GRIGIO E VUOTO?
• Perche’ vi siete inventati compiz ?
• Perche’  non posso piu’ spostare delle finestre da un workspace a un altro ? Prima era NORMALE.
• Perche’ sembra sempre che il programmatore di un qualunque pezzo di GNOME abbia deciso a un certo punto di mollare TUTTO e darsi all’ippica ? Manca sempre qualcosa.
• Ancora, perche’ questa mania per i bottoni ENORMI?? Le finestre di configurazione ENORMI. E’ per principianti o per bambini ?
• Perche’ devo mettere la mia password cosi’ tante volte MENTRE sto usando il MIO computer?
• Perche’ avete messo un’icona del cestino li in basso a destra? No davvero, perche’ ? Fate un uso cosi’ SMODATO del cestino ?
• Perche’ gnome-terminal e’ LENTO a fare l’unica cosa che deve fare, cioe’ VISUALIZZARE TESTO? E’ LENTO DA ANNI, PORCO DIO! E NO, NON TOLGO L’ANTI ALIASING NEL VENTUNESIMO SECOLO, PORCO DIO.
